Green Ideas

 IDEA: Today some of our main issues are Energy, Health and Economy. Lot of people has different great ideas to improve in each area.  Like using solar and wind for energy. Exercise more to drive down the health care cost and it helps building stronger and better economy.

Ofcourse I believe that Laptops/Mobile Devices can run much longer without the need to run for chargers for days. A Laptop running without power, a Mobile Phone running on Battery for a month with unlimited talktime, unlimited backup, how do they sound.Every such Device generates Heat while they run or while being in use. With the advent and progress we are making in Nano Technology this Idea is not far from reality.

Heat not reflecting back into space is part of what causes global warming.  If we were to have roof's that were white instead of more traditional darker colors then we could in a small part help reduce the amount of heat that gets absorbed into the planet.  I got this Idea after seeing Al Gore's Documentary.  It is also believed that the ice shelves also reflect the sun's energy, but as they melt that the water absorbs more energy.  So maybe we could hep by making our roofs white.

I recently gave my daughter an allowance and I tied it to the utility bill.  It is pretty simple.  If the average utility bill is $420 a month and my Daughters allowance is $50/month, then I give her $450 a month and make her responsible to pay the utility bill.  She will make sure that appliances not in use are unplugged lights are turned off and that she watches less TV(extra bonus).  At the end of it she has helped the environment and earned an extra $20-$30 bucks since the bill has come down to around $395.  :)

Another simple idea for people to save the environment and put a little jingle in their pocket is making sure the insulation in your home is working correctly.  This means between exterior walls (even to your garage!) and your attic.  The attic insulation not surprisingly really helps trap warmth.  The other thing to do is upgrade to a electronic thermostat that can be set to change based on the time of the day.  This way you can set the thermostat to a lower temp during the nights when you are asleep.  You will see how quickly your energy bills can get under contro

It seems like we should let the oil companies loan the "bailout" money to the auto makers. Think about it we put the presure for reapyment on the oil companies direct. In order for the clean tech portion to work you would have the Federal Govt. raise the MPG requirement to 50 miles per gallon by 2014. Plus, all profit above $5B would go into a job creation pool that can be accessed for clean tech jobs only.

So in on swoop we solve the auto bailout, we have the oil profits fund clean tech and we revitalize the economy.
