Comment RSSHeat not reflecting back into space is part of what causes global warming. If we were to have roof's that were white instead of more traditional darker colors then we could in a small part help reduce the amount of heat that gets absorbed into the planet. I got this Idea after seeing Al Gore's Documentary. It is also believed that the ice shelves also reflect the sun's energy, but as they melt that the water absorbs more energy. So maybe we could hep by making our roofs white.

Think about the chemicals that go into paint, the process of what it takes to create those chemicals, transport them, apply them, and dispose of them in the form of paint. That's a lot of energy.
What might make more sense is to just utilize roofing material that's a lighter color.
Does anyone know of some good materials that are light colored?

A roof that doesn't absorb heat would cause me to use for fuel to heat my home, increasing the carbon footprint.
You can't win... We're all gonna die.
I think we need to rethink
